Tottenham & Bennett were asked to advise on defects in the structural concrete in this church building.

The building had been constructed in the 1980s but the defects in the concrete were so severe that we had to decide,with the architect and the quantity surveyor, which areas could be repaired and which areas could not be economically repaired.

Following our survey of the concrete the work was split into 2 separate contracts – the first contract involving repairs to the main beams and columns and the second contract involving demolition of the side chapels (which were beyond economic repair) and rebuilding of these chapels using precast concrete ribs.
